Typhoon Lando with internation name Typhoon Koppu is approaching northern Philippines with the threat of flooding rain & mudslides. With winds of 115mph and gusts of 160mph will cause damages to Philippines. With Typhoon Lando it is said possibily be category 3 or 4 hurricane.
President Aquino adviced that the people should prepare for the coming of Typhoon Lando because it will bring 6 to 12 hours of continous rains and will cause flood to low lying areas.
Typhoon Lando is estimated already at 410 kms east of Baler, Aurora, with maximum winds of 150 kph and gusts of up to 185 kph. Estimated rainfall amount within the typhoon’s 600 km diameter was from heavy to intense.

Impacts of the wind:

• A number of nipa and cogon houses may be partially or totally unroofed.
• Some old galvanized iron (G.I.) roofs may be peeled or blown off.
• Some wooden, old electric posts are tilted or downed.
• Some damage to poorly constructed signs/billboards

• Twigs of small trees may be broken.
• Rice crops, however, may suffer significant damage when it is in its flowering stage.
