As part of its continued product expansion, FWD Life Insurance Corporation (FWD Life) launches Fight Plan, a new insurance product that offers financial support upon diagnosis of any form of cancer.
Cancer incidence is on the rise in the Philippines. According to a Philippine Cancer Society study, one out of eight Filipinos is expected to be diagnosed with cancer if they live up to 75 years old.
Cancer strikes both elderly and young people, and 75 percent of Filipino cancer patients are younger than 50 years old. While medical innovations and breakthroughs improve survival rates, cancer treatments can be expensive, with the average cost of one chemotherapy session at approximately PHP100,000.
Designed to be simple and affordable, Fight Plan provides 15-year coverage from any form of cancer with a maximum benefit amount of PHP2 million. Interested policyholders only have to answer two questions about their health and lifestyle and do not need to go through medical check-ups.
“We designed Fight Plan to help Filipinos proactively prepare for the potentially damaging effects of cancer on their finances. This is in line with our efforts to offer products that are straightforward, relevant and intuitive to Filipinos,” said FWD Life President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Grimes.
“Fight Plan allows people to focus on their treatment and recovery instead of worrying about their finances. FWD Life’s propositions ensure that Filipinos can continue with their lifestyle no matter what comes along, including cancer,” added Grimes.
“We have partnered with FWD Life because we support its vision of promoting financial protection for more Filipinos and enabling them to have a more secure future,” said Security Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Alfonso Salcedo.
Fight Plan is available through FWD’s agency distribution and through its Financial Solutions Consultants in Security Bank branches nationwide.
