Davao Mayor Duterte announces “I am not running for President” just this September 7, 2015 during his press conference at Grand Men Seng Hotel in Davao City. Mayor Duterte supporters was sad upon knowing his decision not to run for President.
“I would like to categorically state now… na di ako tatakbong president,” he said. “Wala akong ambisyon mag-presidente.”
“In 2016, I will retire from public life,” he said. “I believe it’s no longer my time. I will retire after my term.”
“I’m not running for president and I never wanted to be one…. Ayaw ko talaga. Ayaw ng pamilya ko pati iyong anak ko na mayor and she’s vocal about it,”

Personal Opinion:
Still the citizens are still hoping that Mayor Duterte will change his mind before the deadline this October. People see him as one of the only hope to have a better country. Some are afraid he might be the next martial law that would lead the country to suffering like during the Marcos regime. Mayor Duterte has lots of accomplishments that would make him very credible to be a candidate for president compare to other running for presidential. How can one be a president if he/she has a legal case against people of the Philippines? How stupid could a person be to vote for such person who has been corrupt. I hope that other people will realize that they need to think twice or trice before voting.
