Asus Zenfone Zoom - thinnest phone with 3x optical zoom

It is more than a year since the Asus Zenfone Zoom was released during CES 2015/ and it is finally on sale here in the Philippines.

The Asus Zenfone Zoom is all about the camera with that rarest of features on a smartphone. The thinnest phone with 3x optical zoom with its 13MP Pixel master rear camera. It provides a 16 times longer exposure duration to ensure the image to be stabilized, sharp and clear every time even when moving.

The rear camera also has dual-LED Real Tone flash for better pictures indoors and the lens has laser auto-focus, which Asus claims is super-fast and lets users take pictures in less than 0.03 seconds.

ZenFone Zoom is designed by Hoya/ and Panasonic designs the sensor. Asus has also added a five megapixel front-facing camera for selfie-obsessed fans.

The Zenfone Zoom’s app features the best camera control available out of the box in a smartphone to date. /You can control every aspect of the camera /like the aperture. ISO, white balance, exposure value, and most notably, shutter speed, are all at your command.
The image is sharp and the colors are vibrant. The optical zoom lens works exactly as intended. Having a Dedicated camera shutter and record buttons on the side make using the Zoom camera a snap.

The Asus ZenFone Zoom looks like the equivalent of Nokia Lumia 1020 at least in terms of design.

The aluminum body measures 5.5mm at its thinnest point extend out to a touch less than 12mm, due to the camera lens and zoom mechanism being stored inside a Lumia-style camera hump. In addition to offering a 3x zoom feature, the camera has optical image stabilization, a 10-mirror, four-piece camera lens produced by Hoya, laser autofocus, and a color temperature flash unit.
The screen has a 1080p resolution, while a 2.5GHz Intel Z3590 processor with 4GB of RAM provides the power. A 3000mAh battery with fast charging/ — Asus says 60-percent capacity is reached in just under 40 minutes/ — makes best use of the internal space. Android 5.0 Lollipop is installed with Asus ZenUI, with 128GB internal memory, a MicroSD card slot, — all protected by super-strong Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4 and the phone is sold in either black or white color schemes.
