With everything prices are increasing from grocery, water, gas and electric. Now we also facing power shortage especially this summer. We don’t know until when would our electric company can supply electricity to each and one of us.

What is Philips #MayMagagawaKa Campaign?

Philips launched an online video series on Facebook and YouTube last month featuring real-life testimonials from Filipinos, whose lives were or would be afflicted by power outages—including small-business owners, tricycle operators, employees, and homeowners.

“Each and everyone of us has a stake and responsibility in building a more energy-conscious nation,” explained Tetteroo-Bueno. “Now, more than ever, we need to save energy. This starts with smarter energy choices.”

When it comes to electrical consumption, she advised, it is the little things that matter—like switching from conventional lighting to LED.

Tetteroo-Bueno concluded: “The #MayMagagawaKa campaign will run throughout the year and it is an advocacy that we are intending to sustain in the long term. Together, we can prevent the lights from fading on the Philippines’ promising growth story.”

P1050562We finally convinced my mom and dad to convert to LED lights. At first my mom is very hesitant to buy just because LED light is not cheap. One bulb of 4w LED will cost your about 289 pesos compare to a 5w CFL bulb will only cost 95 pesos only.

But the question here yes you got to save money in buying a cfl bulb for 95 pesos only. But did you ever think about the power consumption of the cfl bulb compare to a LED bulb. Also an LED bulb would last longer compare to the CFL bulb.

At first it would be an investment to fully convert a typical home to a full LED lighted home.

We just not only send the message to our readers about the Philips #MayMagagawaKa campaign we also want to show we are advocates and we truly support. In buying Philips LED bulbs 10 pesos of the sale will be donated to World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)
