  •  Chimaeras are strange fish that have a network of lines over their surface. The lines often look like seams and make the fish look as though it’s been stitched together from pieces of other creatures. The appearance is reminiscent of the chimera, a creature in Ancient Greek mythology that consisted of parts of different animals joined together.
  • Deep water Species
Uprising of this Species is due to Tectonic Movements underwater, they were carried away by current unto the surface.
  • Chimaeras live in temperate ocean floors down to 2,600 m (8,500 ft) deep, with few occurring at depths shallower than 200 m (660 ft).
  • Chimaeras are found on the ocean floor and use their grinding tooth plates to eat clams, fish, and crustaceans.
  • The ghost shark is easily identified because of their very large, high-set eyes, and the club-like structure at the end of their snouts. Their protruding snout is made to search for food prey in the sand, and is highly sensitive to electric fields and movement.
